As the name suggests, its something related to touch. Yes, in this project we are going to demonstrate such a technology which will enable us to transfer data between devices just by touching them. The data transfer can be unidirectional (simplex) or half duplex.

We will be using our body as medium. To do this we will make a small hardware that will induce digital data in our body (hands) from one side and another hardware that will amplify & reshape the distorted digital signals in other side as shown in the following block diagram.

We can create the following different projects out of this technology…

1. Communication between PC to PC (Simplex)

In this we will be sending any type of files, media, information from one PC to another in one way direction only. If the data is received successfully on other side, it will prove our technology.

2. Communication between PC to PC (Half Duplex)

This is little bit more complex than simplex communication. As our body acts as a single wire, we  have to incorporate time management so as to achieve both way communication possible. To do this we have added a microcontroller (ARM7 – 2 UART port requirement). The code inside the controller will handle the packets such that only one direction communication takes place. Since it happens at high speed, we will get feeling of duplex communication.   

3. Communication between Mobile to Printer

Here we can have one more application in which we will select any file on mobile in our developed APP & will transfer it to the printer enabling only touch based printing.
