ABSTRACT

Safety and Security plays very important role in everyone’s life and people spend lots of money for security. A huge amount is spend on security guards and night watchman every where. But there is no check whether this money is worth spending or the guard is working sincerely to make the investment fruitful or he is just sleeping somewhere and making the money spent on him a waste. This may happen only because there is no supervisor for night guards.
This gap encouraged us to work in this area and hence we come up with new concept saying Watchman Path Tracer as our academic project.

INTRODUCTION

Keeping an eye on night watchman is very necessary as ignorance here may cause a big loss and it may come up to life. RF IDs available in the market are generally used in the security systems. Here in our project also we will design a device in which with the help of RF IDs we can record the way or route of the night watchman and force him to give the duty/round sincerely.

BACKGROUND OVERVIEW

Existing System

This area remained untouched by the technology so far. Hence there is no automation made, resulting this field without any system. It was mere belief of the people on the night watchman.

Drawbacks of Existing System

As there was no check on the night watchman, the guard on the duty can easily show irresponsibility and can sleep somewhere. It may result theft, any unpredictable problems like fire etc. We cannot avoid or prevent the uncertain events but a alert watchman can take necessary action immediately to reduce losses or to prevent more damages.

Our Proposed System

In our proposed system there will be a handheld device given to watchman. This system will have RFID reader and a ZigBee Modem in it. RFID tags will be installed at some distance on the outer wall of the campus. Watchman will show the receiver device on every RFID tags when he is on the round. The system will read the tag id and will send this information to the remote PC via ZigBee communication link. This process will be done on the entire duty time of the watchman at regular interval. The PC software will continuously record all the RFID data send by the handheld device along with date & time. The data can be checked and analyzed later on.

This way the watchman will not think of showing any ignorance in his duty and hence security will increase in the place where this system is installed.
